Can the Town do something about Broken Appliances in my apartment?
The Town requires all property owners/landlords to abide by the the Town's Property Maintenance Code, including appliances. If the property owner is not responsive to your communications regarding issues with appliances the Town can review and require the property owner to fix in accordance with the code.
The Town Property Maintenance Code Section 603 requires that mechanical appliances, fire places, solid fuel burning appliances, cooking appliances and water heating appliances shall be properly installed and maintained in a safe working condition, and shall be capable of performing the intended function.
